Welcome to the official site of the Tasmanian Lapidary & Mineral Association Inc (the “TLMA”).
The TLMA is the umbrella association representing the 7 gem and mineral clubs in Tasmania. Our member clubs are the Lapidary Club of Tasmania, the Mineralogical Society of Tasmania (both based in Hobart), the Lapidary Club of Northern Tasmania (based in Launceston), the Devonport Lapidary Club, the North West Mineral Club (based in Ulverstone), the Burnie District Gemstone Club and the Furneaux Lapidary Club (on Flinders Island).
The TLMA represents its member clubs whenever they wish to speak with one voice. It also arranges insurance for the clubs in order to get the best deal, and is the host for the National Gem & Mineral Show known as GEMBOREE when it is Tasmania’s turn to host this annual show, which rotates around the Australian States.
